The Fisherbiggings is one of the oldest houses in Thurso, it dates back to the time when Thurso had a busy harbour.  

Most of the Fisherbiggings have now been knocked down and replaced, ours is one of the two that are left.  

The house is situated right at the edge of the river Thurso and is just a few minutes walk from the centre of town.

Tigh na Abhainn is also featured in the new Rough Guide to the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
